Something surreal occurs at dusk that many unfortunately neglect to take part in–perhaps too engulfed in obligation, or strapped with stress to take notice of these aesthetic symphonies in the evening sky. However, research shows that people who feel connected with nature report being happier and having more positive emotions than those who don’t share this connection. So if you are one who does not readily partake in this experience, we highly recommend you start.
Having two sons/brothers who are in amazing shape, hit the gym for several hours a day and eat consistently clean diets, Brooke and I should be completely inspired to follow suit. Well, unfortunately we haven’t had a strong relationship with the lifestyle guru that has befriended Ryan and Adam. You know the guy–he goes by the name “Will Power.” For us, Mr. Power is more like our distant cousin that we’ve truly been meaning to contact; however, we’ve lost his cell number, can’t find his address and just haven’t had time to friend him on social media. Yeah, Brooke and I are more of the we’ll get to it tomorrow… Netflix…We really don’t enjoy the gym…Netflix…Too much homework….Netflix…Loads of grading to do…Netflix….

There’s nothing quite like the adventure of a mother-daughter road trip– no stressful boarding times or missed flight connections. Just fill up the tank and head out on the open road–Thelma and Louise, hopefully minus the conclusion. Furthermore, with airfare being obscenely expensive, and many flights already booked for 2017, Brooke and I have decided that a Spring Break road trip is the ideal plan for a budget-friendly girls getaway. It’s actually a right of passage for a teen girl and her mom. We’re still pondering the direction our car will head–East to Niagara Falls, West to the Grand Canyon, South to Gulf Shores, or North to Mackinac Island. We may end up playing a little game of spin the compass, but even though we haven’t decided where the road may lead, we’ve come up with 5 essential tips that will ensure a successful trip when hitting the road!
Paul Coelho is definitely my favorite author with regards to travel and self-discovery. He is the most translated author of all time. The Alchemist, which has sold over 65 million copies worldwide, plain and simply changed my life. Why I chose to wait to read this until now, I pondered briefly, but choosing to read this book during the most difficult point in my life made sense as it spoke to me on the most existential level. I will literally carry this book with me everywhere I go, for I know I will reread passages often. I don’t think there is a human emotion this book did not evoke within my heart and soul. Read more
