When Menopause and Puberty Book The Same Flight

Once upon a time, there was a calm and patient mommy who traveled the world with her sweet-natured, soft-spoken little darling. Side by side they sat and smiled dreamily, gazing out of the 747’s picturesque window, at the wondrous world below.

Suddenly, the flight became turbulent!  Temper tantrums, tears and cursing matches flooded the aisles. Innocent passengers trapped… victim to the barrage of bitching and bickering.

Mom, You’re Way too Old for Instagram

Two years ago this February, my mom started an Instagram account.  When my brothers and I found out,we were a bit upset to say the least. Ok, seriously pissed off. There was no way she was going to be creeping on us. Moms and other old people should know their place… Facebook. Go tell the world how to make precious Pinterest Pumpkin napkin rings, or brag about the money saving organic, gluten free, vegan mangoes you found at Trader Joes. Anything! Just stay the beeeeep away from Instagram!  Everyone knows Instagram is solely for those 25 and younger.  It’s clearly written in the Millennium Code Book for dummies.

Now that my mom has overcome her fear of driving, my life just keeps getting better and better!  This past weekend, we spontaneously decided to head to the beach, as school is lurking just around the corner and we are certainly not ready to succumb to pencils and books just yet.  No, we need a few more ‘sandy toes, sunburned nose’ memories for sure!

Our Yoga Journey

Brooke and I have been trying to find a sport or activity we enjoy doing together as mother and daughter. We’ve tried running and quickly learned  that is not a passion of ours.  We love to hike but that is not something you can do year round in Illinois.  We’ve also recently taken up kayaking, but again, a seasonal activity.

The logical choice for a million reasons is yoga–physical, mental, emotional and spiritual healing to be a few.

Mega Fun at Mega Caverns

Hi All, It’s Brooke!

I am beyond excited to tell you about an epic experience that I had on our drive home from Nashville.  We made a pit stop at Mega Caverns in Louisville Kentucky.  My mom didn’t tell me much about it, and honestly when we pulled up, I was confused.  I knew we were going ziplining, so my eyes were fixed on the treetops.  Boy, was I definitely looking in the wrong direction!

At Mega Caverns, you will be ziplining in dark caves a hundred feet beneath the earth’s surface! I didn’t even realize this was a thing and it is apparently the only one in the entire world! How cool is that?!

Our Fourth of July Weekend at Nashville’s Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center

If you have the opportunity to visit Nashville, there really is only one resort to choose for your stay–Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center . On our last spring break roadtrip to Florida, we stayed here as our midway point and knew we would be returning soon, as this resort is too magnificent to only visit once.

Where do a Teen and a Full Time Teacher, Find the Time to Travel and Blog as Mother-Daughter Travel Bloggers?

Hands down, the number one question my Mom and I are constantly asked is “How do you guys have the time to run a successful travel blogging business?  With me being a full-time student, a gymnast, a musician, having two crazy puppies, a hamster and a fish, along with the necessary social life of your typical fourteen-year-old,  and my Mom,  a full time elementary school teacher, running a private tutoring business and being a mother of three awesome kids:))  How can we possibly manage and grow Pedis N Passports???
