Eaglewood Resort & Spa

This past weekend, Brooke and I had the wonderful opportunity to stay at the beautiful Eaglewood Resort and Spa in Itasca, Illinois.  If you are a spa lover, golfer or foodie, this resort is right up your alley. Speaking of ‘alley’, they also have an actual cosmic bowling alley which was such a pleasant and fun surprise!

Maintaining our ‘staycational’ pampering traditions, we could not pass up a day at the spa;  luxurious and rejuvenating mother/daughter swedish massages were a must and definitely did not disappoint!

The post-massage Tranquility Room is pure bliss!

Honestly, the entire atmosphere of this resort could be aptly named “The Tranquility Room”.  Every square foot of this expansive resort is so serene and any stress you bring along when you arrive will dissipate immediately!

Dinner at the Prairie River Fire Pit and Patio was amazing. With a live band and people getting up and dancing right beside their tables, it was such a jubilant atmosphere. Make sure to make reservations to guarantee outdoor seating. While the summer months are certainly a buzz here, the scenic views during autumn must be stunning!

Breakfast at Burhman’s was just as scrumptious as our dinner. Buffets can typically be hit or miss and are not usually our cup of tea, but this buffet most definitely rates 5 star! The wide variety of breakfast choices were as farm fresh to table as one can get. The omelette station was melt in your mouth delicious, as was everything else we tried. We did go back for seconds….many times!

With 295 spacious guest rooms and suites and 37,000 square feet  event space, Eaglewood Resort and Spa offers the ideal getaway for corporate and family events or just a personal local weekend escape. We were fortunate to have the opportunity to view a breathtaking outdoor wedding.  With the expansive setting, we can only imagine how lovely the wedding photographs will be.

One of the employees of the golf course, Tim, was kind enough to give us a grand tour of the entire course.  We are seriously considering taking golf lessons just to return here to play!

Our only regret was not having a chance to swim in the resort’s enormous pool, but at least now we have an excuse to return!
