After reading several outstanding reviews, we decided to book a snorkeling excursion with Captain Marvin’s Stingray City Tours.  A shuttle picked us up from the Ritz Carlton around 8:30 am and after a five minute drive, we arrived at the marina  and were greeted by the friendliest crew, Eric and Michael, as we boarded a beautiful sailboat.  We headed to the spacious upper deck to make the most of the stunning Caribbean views as we set sail for adventure.

Packing light is essential for a relaxed and stress-free vacation.  There are always mishaps that occur when traveling and the last thing you want is to deal with is lugging multiple cumbersome suitcases along with you as you travel.

When I think back to dark days of packing ignorance when almost every article of clothing from my closet was stuffed into numerous suitcases, paying $50 fees for an overweight luggage and carrying heavy bags through cities, up flights of stairs, on and off buses, I have to laugh at myself.  Furthermore, more than half of the items I packed were never used or worn. I truly believe I  have finally mastered the art of packing light for our travels.

The Pros and Cons of Cruises

Growing up, I had the privilege of going on many cruises because my parents absolutely loved to cruise.  As an adult, and a mom, I had never planned a cruise vacation until a few years ago,  wanting my kids to experience the difference between a resort vacation and an adventure at sea.  We took a Caribbean cruise from Miami to the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, Grand Turk, St.Thomas and St. John.  It was amazing family bonding time; however, after the trip, I couldn’t help but reflect on the pros and cons of cruising. For me personally, the pros as cons weigh pretty evenly, and I believe it really comes down to personal preferences.
