This past spring we spent a glorious week at Sunset Royal Beach Resort in Cancun, Mexico. This was our fourth stay at this resort and believe us, it did not disappoint. For children, teens and adults, there is something for everyone. From overlooking the Caribbean sea while lounging in the hotel room jacuzzi, attending morning yoga in the palm-frond pavilion, receiving full body massages to the sound of crashing waves, playing pool volleyball and basketball, water aerobics, scavenger hunts, painting ceramics, enjoying cooking classes, long naps on the expansive pristine beach, afternoon poolside bingo, or enjoying limitless cocktails (Brooke did not partake in that activity), this all-inclusive resort has a myriad of activities to meet the needs of all ages.
The staff could not be friendlier, (or cuter based on the hormones of a thirteen-year-old girl) They know you by name, go out of their way to strike up conversations and have the most energetic personalities.
The food was delicious. Each morning, if we didn’t order room service, we headed to the buffet which was a feast for the eyes. We have never seen so many varieties of fruit, we had to ask each day for the names and now having a working knowledge of the tropical fruits of Mexico. Omelets were custom prepared, there was a complete pastry section with at least thirty different selections. There was also an abundance of traditional Mexican choices with meats, fried plantains and every sauce one could imagine–one spicier than the next! For lunch, we typically just at poolside or on the beach where your food was personally delivered to your beach bed or lounge chair. Dinners were especially magical at the restaurant where we were serenaded by either a violinist or flutist each evening. We enjoyed amazing appetizers, lobster dinners, and scrumptious desserts with Mayan Coffee made right at our table–fire show and all.
Overall this vacation was top notch. Each evening we’d sit on the beach and watch the breathtaking sunsets, from this incredible resort, aptly named for sure.
While we loved staying at the resort each day–we are so excited to venture out on an amazing excursion for a day. Read all about our Zip-lining, Swimming in the Cenotes and riding ATV’s through the jungle in the next blog!
